Gigabay Progress Report: October 2026 – We Have Doors on the North Side!

Posted on October 30, 2026October 30, 2026 by The Star Queen

Two October drive-bys at the Gigabay: on October 11 the walls looked closed in to the top but the north openings were still empty, and by October 29 we have doors on the north side! I compare both with my August report, check the very tall openings (maybe a door starting on the south side, too?) and spot a big orange crane by the north wall.

Gigabay Progress Report: August 2026 – Wall All the Way to the Top

Posted on October 29, 2026October 26, 2026 by The Star Queen

Two August drive-by sessions (Aug 9 and Aug 30, five photos shown) and the black wall on the Gigabay now seems to run all the way to the top: the open white steel I saw above the wall in June and July is no longer visible from the road. I spot a long thin slit near the top of the north wall, a small window-like opening at a top corner, churned-up dirt and silt fence on the south side, and the two sets of openings at the base still open. I compare my photos to July, say what I’m not sure about, and explain the new construction words.

Gigabay Progress Report: July 2026 – The Black Wall Meets the Roof Steel

Posted on October 28, 2026October 25, 2026 by The Star Queen

Two July drive-by sessions (July 2 and July 9, four photos shown) and the big black wall on the north side of the Gigabay now runs all the way up to the thin band of open steel at the top, by eye. On the south side the two very tall steel-framed openings are still open, and the ground around the building is busy with trailers, portable toilets and cones. I compare my photos to June 25, say what I’m not sure about, and explain the new construction words.

Gigabay Progress Report: June 2026 – The Wall Reaches Almost to the Top

Posted on October 27, 2026October 25, 2026 by The Star Queen

One June drive-by session (June 25, three photos) and the black wall on the north side of the Gigabay now reaches nearly to the top, by eye, with only a thin band of open steel above it. I also got the south side, where the large bay doors will be: two very tall openings framed in steel in a big plain dark wall. I compare my photos to May 20 and to April, say what I’m not sure about, and explain the new construction words.

Gigabay Progress Report: May 2026 – The Black Wall Keeps Climbing

Posted on October 26, 2026October 25, 2026 by The Star Queen

Two May drive-bys (May 8 and 20) and the black wall on the north side of the Gigabay has grown from a bit under half of what I can see to about two-thirds, by eye. I compare my photos to April 11, point out the two garage-door-style openings at the base, look straight up at the steel, say what I’m not sure about, and explain the new construction words.

Gigabay Progress Report: February 2026 – Still Climbing

Posted on October 25, 2026October 25, 2026 by The Star Queen

Two drive-bys only two days apart, and a steel frame that keeps climbing. I compare my February 5 and 7 photos to January 28, say what changed (and what I’m not sure about), and explain the new construction words along the way.

Gigabay Progress Report: March 2026 – Dressed in Black

Posted on October 25, 2026October 25, 2026 by The Star Queen

Two March drive-bys, 8 days apart, and the biggest change since I started watching: the Gigabay’s steel frame now has a black wall at the base, with two big openings. I compare my March 14 and 22 photos to February 7, count the cranes (including a big big orange crane), say what I’m not sure about, and explain the new construction words.

Gigabay Progress Report: April 2026 – The Black Wall Starts to Climb

Posted on October 25, 2026October 25, 2026 by The Star Queen

Three April drive-bys (Apr 2, 11 and 27) and the black wall that wrapped the bottom of the Gigabay in March has started to climb: tall black panels with wide gaps between them now rise up the frame. I compare my photos to March 22, show the north side with its garage-door-style openings and the south side where the large bay doors will be, say what I’m not sure about, and explain the new construction words.

Gigabay Progress Report: January 2026 – The Frame Fills In

Posted on October 25, 2026October 25, 2026 by The Star Queen

Two drive-bys 19 days apart, and a steel frame that keeps filling in. I compare my December photos to January 9 and January 28, point out what changed (and what I’m not sure about), and teach the construction words along the way.
